Town Forest Trek: Guided Bicycle Tour of Town Forests

Saturday, October 3rd - Town Forest Trek: A Guided Bicycle Tour of Town Forests presented by The Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Council and the Calais Conservation Commission. Ride begins at Robinson Saw Mill at 9am and ends at Kent Tavern at 3:30pm. This is a supported bike tour to visit town forests and historical sites in Calais and East Montpelier. The ride is approximately 12 miles of hilly dirt roads with many lengthy stops en route. We will meet town historians, ecologists, and foresters. Stops include the Robinson Sawmill, Old West Church, Bliss Pond Town Forest, East Montpelier Town Forest, Adamant Village, Gospel Hollow, and Kent Tavern. During registration, you will have the option to purchase a box lunch from the Adamant coop for $5. Energy bars, some snacks, and water will be provided.
