The Dummerston Conservation Commission will host a program on eradicating invasive plants from around our homes and neighborhood at 7 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, at The Learning Collaborative, 471 Rte. 5, Dummerston. These plants include Japanese barberry, buckthorn, Oriental bittersweet, Japanese knotweed, and multiflora rose. Chris Polatin from Polatin Ecological Services will tell us what the most noxious of the invasives are, how they damage the environment, how to identify them, and what we can do this fall to get rid of them. There will be follow-up programs on removal of invasives in the spring to continue this effort. For more information, call 257-0012.
