Hello, Bethel!
On Sunday, October 4th Windsor Northwest and Orange Windsor Supervisory Unions will be hosting an important community educational discussion and we hope you will attend. The purpose of this event is to gain feedback from the community as we build a strategic plan for all our schools.
As you may know, our 10 communities—Bethel, Chelsea, Granville, Hancock, Rochester, Sharon, South Royalton, Stockbridge, Strafford, and Tunbridge—will become the White River Valley SU as of July 1, 2016. The administrators and board members from all our towns are working to build a world class education system for our children. We need your help to accomplish our goals!
The event, called “Ed Talk: An Afternoon of Education Action Planning. For our Kids,” will include updates about the SU transition underway, information about Act 46, and an overview of the results from last spring’s “We Surveys.” There will also be lots of small group discussion and opportunities for community members to share your views.
Please join us from 1-4 p.m. on October 4th at the Chase Center at Vermont Law School in Royalton (don’t worry—the Patriots have the day off). Childcare will be provided and the annual Jr. Iron Chef competition will also be taking place among 5-6th graders from throughout our SUs. For more information, speak to a member of your local school board or email the Transition Board communications committee at Lsmith@soroschool.org.
Thanks for your support! We hope to see you on October 4th.
