“Strolling with the Craftsbury Historical Society”

Your very own Craftsbury Historical Society (CHS) will take up the trendy pastime of strolling on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 16 on Craftsbury Common.

Historian-stroller extraordinaire Dave Linck will lead an historical pilgrimage to some of the oldest, most notable structures in town. Dave uses his in-depth research to guide his engaging, well-informed narrative of the history of the buildings, their uses and their inhabitants. Former as well as current residents and neighbors are invited to share their knowledgeand anecdotes as well, providing an enjoyable mix of information about life on the Common then and now.

Those attending should be prepared for a leisurely stroll with comfortable, weather-appropriate shoes and apparel. Some limited capacity may be available for those needing mobility assistance. The pilgrimage will begin at 4 pm at the Babcock House Museum and conclude about 5:30 pm at the Church on the Common – just in time to enjoy the monthly free community supper that begins at 6. Both the stroll and the meal are open to the public and free, although donations are always accepted.
