A Trip Through Time at the Hyde Log Cabin

On Tuesday, August 11th, Charlene Southwick, the docent of the Hyde Log Cabin and the 1814 Schoolhouse, will take you on a trip back in time showing and explaining some of the early and unusual artifacts which are on display at the Hyde Log Cabin and will compare them to modern day living.

Also, Anza Myers will demonstrate hand quilting and quilting as it was done with old treadle machines and as it is done now with modern quilting machines. Lynn Soule and Danielle Kumitch will demonstrate the old and new ways of rug hooking. If any one would like to demonstrate a craft such as weaving, etc. please call Fay at 372-8339.

This program will be held on Tuesday, August 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the yellow Block Schoolhouse located at the site of the Hyde Log Cabin on U.S. Rte 2 adjacent to the Grand Isle Elementary School. Handicapped accessible. Refreshments will be served.
