Solar is Swallowing Our Pristine Land!

Hello Everyone,
I just can't understand what our Govenor and Legislators are thinking!!!! I guess they are not!
Field after field is being taken over by solar panals & our beautiful Green Mountain state is becoming the SILVER FIELD STATE! Can you tell me how tourism is going to continue to be one of Vermont's top indiustries??!!?? Who is going to want to come look at fields of steel??
I also wonder who is supposed to maintain the MINIMAL "screening" they put in to minimize the aestetic impact on surrounding properties and the environment. This "scrrening" is a joke!
Has anyone seen the trees that were planted around the exisiting array off Field Days Rd. across from West Cemetery? Four foot evergreens 40 ft apart will in NO WAY "screen" the panals from anything!
And the reason we are not using rooftops? It has been said that they will not support the weight of the panals......Well let's make them able to withstand that weight! It should be mandatory that ALL new construction should allow for this, but these companies, our Govenor and our Legislatures are putting these in the quickest & cheapest way to maximize the income they produce! After all isn't this all about money?!? Shumlin is rubber stamping these "projects" and will not even be Govenor next year, but he will be able to say it was while he was in office that these things were accomplished.
Has anyone thought what will happen to these arrays when they are no longer operable? Who is going to take them down? What will we do with all the components that make up these panals? Where will they go & what affect will they have to our landfills, etc....
What about our bird habitiat - for example on Twitchell Hill Road, we have a pair of Eagles, a pair of Hawks, Great Blue Heron's, grassland birds, and we are in the direct migration of the geese from Dead Creek to Otter Creek!
I could go on & on, but the reality is, the array proposed to go in at 820 Field Days Road, starting with 20 acres & they are hoping to go to 60 acres, is right in my backyard &
YOURS COULD BE NEXT! Whether this specific "project" directly affects you or not, please come voice your opinion at the next Public Hearing!
PLEASE come to the SITE VISIT at 820 Field Days Road, Wednesday, July 15th at 4PM and the Public Hearing that evening at 7PM at the New Haven Congregational Church on the Village Green. Shouldn't the people of Vermont be making the decision what happens in our backyards?
Hope to see you Wednesday!!!!
