ADA 25th Anniversary Celebration

The Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Accessibility and the Vermont Center for Independent Living invite you to the Burlington 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The event will take place at 12:00 noon on July 10th at the North Beach Pavilion.

Holding the event at North Beach allows the City to highlight recent accessibility improvements made to Burlington’s parks, including a ramp that allows people with limited mobility to better access the water. Speakers include Mayor Miro Weinberger and representatives from the Advisory Committee on Accessibility and VCIL to discuss the progress that has been made since the signing of the ADA 25 years ago and the work that remains for Burlington to be an inclusive, accessible community for all.

The event is family-friendly and will include youth from Parks & Rec Champ Camp. Light lunch and refreshments will be served at the event. Parking is free in the North Beach lot for those with an accessible parking placard, $6 for residents, and $8 for non-residents.

ASL interpreters will be available at the event. If you require additional accommodations to participate, want more information about tabling, or plan to bring a large group, please contact Kesha Ram at (802) 865-7172.
