Please join us for a fascinating evening with David Bain, the author of “Empire Express: Building the First Transcontinental Railroad” on Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Howden Hall in Bristol: David Bain is a senior lecturer at Middlebury College. He has delivered this dramatic and richly-illustrated talk at places as varied as The Smithsonian Institution, The library of Congress, The Council Bluffs (IA) Public library, and Canada’s Banff Springs Hotel. His bestselling book, “Empire Express,” inspired an “American Experience” documentary (he served as co-producer), a film on the History Channel, and a segment of Bill Moyers’ series, “Becoming American.” Free of charge, all are welcome.
