Feb 2, 2025, 2 to 5 PM

Vermont Schoolhouse Project at the Addison Town Historical Society, February 2, 2024, 2 pm.

The February meeting of the Addison Town Historical Society will feature the Vermont Schoolhouse Project, presented by its founder and retired teacher, Charlie Farrell. Charlie taught Middle School social studies at a Lake Champlain island school for 33 years.

The Vermont Schoolhouse Project was established in 2006 to create a historical inventory of the schools that have served Vermont students. Each school is identified with a brief history of the building and photographs (when available).

Charlie will present:
- how the Project started
- research methods used
- local school, facts and photos: Addison and other towns
- the evolution of the state's history of school evaluations / inspection criteria; heating, lighting, life safety
- school house stories.

Light refreshments will be provided and a short business meeting will follow (if time and daylight permit).

The meeting will be held Sunday, February 2 (blizzard date 2/9/25) at the Addison Fire Department, 44 VT Rt 17 West in Addison at 2 pm. Folks are encouraged to bring related photos and artifacts.
