Just a reminder that Friday 05-15-15 is National Bike to Work Day and that this week has been National Bike to Work Week and this month has been National Bike Month by the League of American Bicyclists. Join riders this Friday across the nation in cycling to work, school and your errands!
Show your bike helmet at Carol's Hungry Mind Cafe during your morning commute on Bike to Work Day between 7 and 9 am for free coffee/tea. Hosted by Middlebury Safe Routes to School. Thank you Carol's!
If you commuted to work or errands by alternative transportation (bike/walk/bus/car pool/telecommute) between May 4 and May 15, you can qualify for some great prizes by registering what you did at www.waytogovt.org. Even one day of trying an alternative counts. ACTR offered a free bus pass last Friday and invites you to try the bus. They have racks for your bike. Check out their options at www.actr-vt.org.
Middlebury Safe Routes to School has offered a chance to win a $50 Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op gift card to any Mary Hogan School staff and parent volunteers who signed up for the Way to Go! challenge hosted by VTrans Go Vermont. Thank you co-op! Check out your commuting options at www.connectingcommuters.org.
Local Motion extends the challenge to bike and walk to work, school, and errands for the rest of May for more prizes if you enter the Vermont Bike Walk Challenge. See details at www.localmotion.org.
Safe and happy riding,
