Prospect Rock Permaculture is hosting an exciting literary event! Diana Beresford-Kroeger will give a talk at Johnson State College on Wednesday, April 22, at 4 PM.

We will be on hand selling her two most recent books:
•The Sweetness of a Simple Life: Tips for Happier, Healthier, and Kinder Living from a Visionary Natural Scientist
•The Global Forest: 40 Ways Trees Can Save Us

Here is a brief bio, provided by the author's agent, Stuart Bernstein:

> Diana Beresford-Kroeger is a visionary natural scientist—a botanist and medical biochemist—and author recognized around the world for her unique and intimate understanding of our crucial relationship with the global forest, its flora and fauna and its role in our health and the well-being of the whole planet. Orphaned in Ireland in her youth, Beresford-Kroeger was educated by Gaelic elders who instructed her in the Brehon knowledge of plants and nature and the cures and medicines they contained. Now she conducts her experiments in a garden/laboratory outside Ottawa and in a house she and her husband built with their own hands. Her latest book, The Sweetness of a Simple Life, is a handbook for living more harmoniously with nature, for guarding against illness, ensuring the vitality of our children and our pets—and it tells us how to protect ourselves and our environment from the effects of climate change and global warming. With Beresford-Kroeger’s gentle but firm approach, and ample doses of Irish humor, this extraordinary woman shares her wisdom and advice for achieving better health and peace of mind for ourselves and the gardens and cities we live in.
