Let's Talk Sub-Zero Camping

Past event
Mar 22, 2015

Join Eric Nuse on Sunday, March 22 at 2 PM for an afternoon of pictures and stories from his winter camping trips in the Algonquin Provincial Park in the wilds of Ontario. Using traditional wooden snowshoes, toboggans and mukluks, Eric and friends follow winter trails through the northern bush to remote campsites where they use canvas wall tents and box stoves to fend off temperatures that fall to 40 degrees below zero. Howling wolves and hissing martins added to the excitement, not to mention a ground blizzard or two. It’s free at the Johnson Public Library.

This is the second presentation in the Conservation Commission’s 2015 March Gladness series.
