I'm putting on a free community screening of The Internet's Own Boy (105 minutes, 2014) at the Greenwich Free Library on Main Street. This gripping documentary tells the remarkable story of computer programming prodigy and information activist Aaron Swartz who was hounded by an overzealous prosecutor. Everyone is welcome.
The New York Times calls the documentary "a devastating meditation on what can happen when a prescient thinker challenges corporate interests." If you use the Internet, you'll probably be interested in this excellent film!
After the film Jonathan Capra of Albany will lead a discussion guided by questions from the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
No reservations are needed. Doors open at 6:30 and we'll have light refreshments. Email me if you have any questions.
