Preview of March 9 City Council Meeting

Past event
Mar 9, 2015, 7 to 8 PM

Dear Neighbors,

On Monday, the City Council will convene its first of two meetings for the month of March.

Our Council meeting will begin at 7pm in Contois Auditorium in City Hall. The first item on our agenda will be a presentation from Pat Burns, General Manager of City Market. Every year, City Market comes to the Council and gives us an update on the past year and outlook for the next. It’s one of our favorite presentations….because Pat, and his predecessor, Ward 6 resident Clem Nilan, bring food! This, combined with having such an extraordinarily successful grocery and food market in our downtown, makes for an informative, positive and yes, nutritious presentation.

Following Pat’s presentation, we have one item on our deliberative agenda. We have a first reading of proposed ordinance changes regarding what have been deemed redundant and unnecessary steps, costs and complexity to the development review process for conditional use projects, inclusionary and replacement housing and planned unit development. These changes were proposed by the Planning Commission.

We will then have council committee reports, comments from councilors and the Mayor.

Please keep in mind that you are welcome to come to a council meeting and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm.
Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website:
https://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public
Please keep in mind that at all Council meetings are televised live on Channel 317 on Burlington Telecom.

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call over the weekend or on Monday.

My best,
Karen
