Sch. Choice Will Lower Sch. Costs / Prop. Taxes and Improve Outcomes
On Tuesday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the Ilsley Public Library in Middlebury, Rob Roper will give a detailed presentation as to how expanding Vermont’s tradition of school choice can lower education costs and fix the property tax mess while improving student opportunities and outcomes.
The November 2014 election brought a resounding call by the voters - from all parts of Vermont – for state government to fix our broken education financing system and to rein in runaway property tax increases. Mr. Roper will show the audience how the solution to this problem lies in expanding Vermont’s 150-year-old school choice “tuitioning” program that exists now for 93 Vermont towns (about 5% of the K-12 population). This presentation is free and open to the public. Citizens are encouraged to participate in this important and timely conversation.
Rob Roper is the president of the Ethan Allen Institute.
