The Committee to Save The Hectorville Bridge in Montgomery was established almost a year ago at last years town meeting. I am reaching out to you with hopes The committee was formed in part because the select board put forth to the voters of Montgomery at last years town meeting to decide what to do with the bridge which had been disassembled over 10 years ago and is now sitting covered with a tarp on the St. Onge Construction site on Rt. 118 in Montgomery Their thought was to trash it. But because of a grassroots effort of many community committee members, restoring the bridge is beginning take hold. The committee successfully wrote a feasibility study grant from the Vt. Dept. of Transportation and was awarded $11,261. The grant is a matching grant and we are requesting the matching funds from the residents of Montgomery. It is article 10 in the Montgomery town report. Please go to Town Meeting March 3 and vote yes for article 10.
