‘Interested in Becoming a School Board Member?’ Info Session
Tuesday, February 10, 2015 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Hazen Union Library

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a member of your local school board? Thinking about getting more involved in local educational issues? Are you a resident with a passion for public service? Or perhaps you are just curious and would like to learn more about school boards in general?

As town meeting day approaches, the School Boards across Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union invite you to an informational session Tuesday, February 10th at 6 pm at Hazen Union LIbrary.

Representatives from each school board will share practical information on becoming a member of a school board as well as their thoughts and reflections on being a board member.

The Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union is comprised of eight school districts, including Craftsbury Town School District, Greensboro Town School District, Hardwick Town School District, Hazen Union School District, Lakeview Union School District, Stannard Town School District, Wolcott Town School District, and Woodbury Town School District. Residents of these member school districts who are 18 years or older, who are not regularly employed by a school district within the supervisory union, and who do not currently hold a simultaneous position of auditor, first constable, collector of taxes, town treasurer, or town manager are eligible to hold the office of school board member. Some additional considerations apply.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 802-472-6531 x 14.
