Please join your neighbors in commemorating the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
On Sun. Jan. 19, 2025 from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at the Williston Central School Auditorium, we'll be focusing on the theme "Dare to Dream: Dream of Equity, Dream of Justice, Dream of Hope, Dream of Inclusion."
Our keynote speaker is Rev. Dr. Arnold Thomas, retired pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Jericho, former Conference Minister of the Vermont Conference of the United Church of Christ, former pastoral staff member of Riverside Church in New York City, recipient of a Martin Luther King, Jr. Peacemaker Award, and founder and moderator of the Racism in America series in Vermont.
The event will also feature a dramatic reading of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech by Champlain Valley Union students, musical selections by the Williston Central School Varitones and an exhibit of WCS student art, poetry and essays.
Community partners organizing the event include Williston-Richmond Rotary Club, Williston Racial Equity Partners, WCS, CVU, Williston Federated Church, and Richmond Racial Equity.
The event is free and open to all.
