Have you ever wondered about the Guardian ad Litem program? A GAL is a court-appointed special advocate for a child who is involved in a court case such as a custody battle. Janice Santiago, the Regional Coordinator for Franklin, Grand Isle, and Chittenden Counties, will be at the Haston Library on Thursday, December 12th from 10 to 11 AM to answer any questions you may have about what a Guardian ad Litem does, and how to become one. There is no educational or training requirement to become a GAL, as the program provides initial training, mentorship, and ongoing support. Stop by the library and meet Janice, and learn more about this very important volunteer program!
