Hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving! As you may be shopping for the Holidays I hope you will head to Church St. I (and a big crowd of other revelers) were down there on Friday for the Tree lighting and Church Street was looking and feeling festive and wonderful. Come feel the Joy downtown!
In other news, many residents who both like and dislike fireworks have requested notice of when they are happening so that they can watch or head out of town or put the Thundershirt on the dog. Here is a notice that we just received from the Fire Department and information about how you can get these notices directly as well as share important information with the Fire Department:
The Burlington Fire Marshal's Office has issued a permit for a fireworks display at 4 College Street for December 4, 2024 at 08:30 pm.
Below is a link to a form called Community Connect. This link will allow Burlington residents to register with the Burlington Fire Department to receive emails about events that the Fire Department has authorized with in the City, like fireworks displays. This will also allow residents to enter information about their place of residence. Information about items like where the gas shut off is, do you have pets, is someone in your residence disabled or who should we call in case of an emergency. All of this information can be very helpful for the Fire Department. Enter as much or as little information that you are comfortable with. At a minimum we would like a name and email so that we can send you important information.
