Have you ever wondered what happens to the water that goes your drain? Interested in how stormwater affects our combined sewer system? Now is your chance to learn more and ask questions! Burlington Water Resources will be opening up our largest treatment plant to the public for guided tours and we hope you can join us. We'll be exploring important improvements on the horizon to address housing growth, Lake quality, employee safety and odor control, along with practical steps you can take to care for our community's water resources.
The tour will include time outdoors and time in buildings where treatment equipment is operating. The outdoor component is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers while the treatment buildings require up to 5 stairs to access. Plan on being outside for about an hour and a half, so dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes if you wish to go inside the treatment buildings.
