We all know that speeding through our neighborhoods puts people at risk. And it has a devastating effect on our sense of community. Even before an accident occurs, speeding breeds resentment and a growing sense of distrust among fellow residents and neighbors.
Many who habitually cruise through our neighborhoods at 40+ MPH aren't even aware of their own speed...or of the devastating impact it has on our community. It's complex situation that will require multi-faceted solutions that change behaviors and save lives. This may be a daunting task, but we have to start somewhere, right? Please join us for a community conversation at 3:00 this Sunday at the Pope Memorial Library Community Center. Let's share ideas for making our community safe and walkable for everyone -- ideas that lead to action. I look forward to seeing you there!
