On Sunday, November 17 at 4 pm, Grace Church will present Women In Song: A Recital, performed by Helen Lyons, soprano, and Elaine Greenfield, piano. Both accomplished musicians, Lyons and Greenfield created this concert to highlight the works of female composers. Their focus is specific to composers in the early 19th century up to the present day. From better known names such as Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schuman, and Lili Boulanger to more obscure composers like Pauline Viardot-Garcia, Florence Price, and Margaret Bonds, this concert is sure to have something for everyone. Also included is a Margaret Atwood poem, set to music by local composer and host at Vermont Public Classical, James Stewart. A free will offering will be graciously accepted.
