The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Vermont (NAMI Vermont) is offering a free in-person Mental Illness & Recovery workshop in Pawlet for family members, peers, and community members who want to learn more about mental health and recovery.

Saturday, November 16, 2024
10:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Hosted by Pawlet Public Library

Mental Illness and Recovery is a free daylong workshop that includes basic information about major mental health conditions, an overview of effective treatments, accessing services throughout Vermont, coping strategies, crisis prevention, and recovery. Any community member who wants to learn more about mental health and recovery is encouraged to attend. This includes professionals, family members, and individuals with a mental health condition. Participants will learn about major mental illnesses and symptoms and how these conditions are treated. They will leave with a deeper understanding of what recovery means, coping strategies to aid in recovery, and effective communication techniques. They will also learn about resources available in the state of Vermont, in addition to NAMI Vermont's numerous free programs for individuals with mental illness, their friends and family members, students, providers, organizations, and community members.

Light refreshments will be available. There will be a break in the workshop for lunch (lunch not provided). Pre-registration is required to attend this workshop. Register online at www.namivt.org/mir. A NAMI Vermont member will contact you and provide more details about the location and program.
