On Wednesday, October 23rd, from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Ripton Community House there will be a chance for the Ripton Community to come together to get involved with and about our elementary school. With dwindling enrollment numbers, the character of our elementary school may need to be re-imagined. Rather than our town being on its heels in response to change, we should be part of envisioning those changes and participating in their implementation. Our new superintendent, Dr. Wendy Baker, will be present to share her perspective on the role Ripton might play in the future of ACSD. Then there will be a discussion to brainstorm ideas for how our school could remain a part of that community. We hope this meeting will be attended by people with a range of opinions about how our school, or even the physical building, should look in the decades to come.
This meeting is intended to bring people up to speed on recent developments, and then to brainstorm ideas that can be explored in more depth by a smaller committee. Whether you've ever had a student at this school, we encourage you to attend so that you can be part of the conversation about its role in our community going forward. Come and join the conversation! Refreshments will be served. If having childcare would help you attend, please reach out to Molly Witters.
