With Halloween just around the corner, the Reading Rec is excited to announce we will once again have a Trunk-or-Treat event during Fright Night!
This event is free and open to children of all ages in Readin and neighboring towns and will be held at the Town Hall parking lot on Thursday, October 31st from 4:30 to ~8:00 pm.
At Trunk-or-Treat, volunteers decorate the trunk of their car, bed of their truck, horse trailer, or anything else on 4 wheels in a Halloween theme, then park on the perimeter of the parking lot with the nose of their vehicle facing away from the center of the lot. Children come to each vehicle to trick-or-treat. This type of event caught a lot of attention during the COVID-19 pandemic as a great way for people to come together outside.
The more Trunk-or-Treat vehicles present, the more fun it is for the children, so community volunteers are needed! Anyone interested in participating with a vehicle should reach out to us at reading-rec-committee@googlegroups.com. Registration for vehicles is free and open until October 30th and no registration is needed for children attending the event. Parents are not required to participate as a Trunk-or-Treat vehicle in order to bring their child. Registered Trunk-or-Treat vehicles will park at the Town Hall parking lot.
