Baby, it's getting cold outside! Please help The Mitzvah Fund, Central Vermont's nonprofit mobile veterinary hospital, make sure the furry members of local families in need are well outfitted for whatever the Vermont winter season throws our way.
The Mitzvah Fund's FREE Winter Dog Coat Distribution Event will be held Sunday, November 3rd, from 2:30-5:00PM in the parking lot at Guy's Farm & Yard in Montpelier. Look for the big Blue & White Mitzvah Fund mobile veterinary hospital. Bring your leashed dog for a personalized fit by our volunteers or bring your dog's measurements: from the base of their neck to the base of their tail and around their chest just behind their front legs.
The Mitzvah Fund, in partnership with generous local businesses, (see list below) will be collecting clean, gently used, dog coats from October 18th through November 2nd at the following locations. Look for the well-marked bins inside each location. THIS YEAR WE HAVE A HUGE NEED FOR LARGE & EXTRA LARGE COATS. Many large breed dogs, especially rescues from down south have very short hair and no ability to grow thick winter fur. PLEASE do not donate pet costumes, PJs, or cotton coats (if they get wet, they are not warm.) THANK YOU!
