Life at Camp
Meet a 36-year Veteran of the Vermont National Guard, local Author and President of her diversity education company, Empowering Gender Opportunities, LLC (EGO), Doris J. Sumner.
Her debut memoir, 'Life At Camp: Combating the Sexism We Tolerate and Why the Military Should Take the Lead' tells the story of a suburban tomboy joining the Army at age 18 and finding her purpose filled life.
We all take that first step on a journey to find where we fit, where we can be of maximum service, the journey there can be a trudge. Grit, resilience and finding purpose in the pain become invaluable traits when overcoming the obstacles we all find on our journeys.
