Come out and discover a national treasure right in your own back yard and join in on this fun day of discovery at the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge!
To kick off National Wildlife Refuge Week, the Friends of Missisquoi are hosting the Missisquoi Wildlife Fair this Sunday, October 13th, from 10:00AM-3:00PM, at the Missisquoi NWR Visitor Center, 29 Tabor Rd in Swanton.
There will be a variety of kids activities, numerous presentations from area environmental and recreational organizations, and a chance take in the refuge by participating in the Walk for the Wild 5K Challenge. Challengers can choose to walk some of the refuge trails or to paddle on the Missisquoi River.
Specific details and a schedule for the day can be found at https://friendsofmissisquoi.org/calendar.
Bring your friends and family along to discover the Missiquoi NWR and enjoy these unique federal public lands. You will leave with a deep appreciation of the importance of caring for and supporting our wild and natural spaces!
