Important Notice: 2024-25 Property Tax Installment Due

Past event
Oct 9, 2024, 8 AM to 7 PM

The first installment of the 2024-25 property taxes is due on October 9, 2024. We understand that many residents are facing higher tax obligations this year, and we recognize the challenges this may present. To assist you, we encourage you to visit lincolnvermont.org/taxfaqs for helpful resources and information.

For your convenience, the Town Office will be open for in-person payments from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 8, and Wednesday, October 9 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. An exterior lockbox is also available to the left of the office door for after-hours drop-off. If you prefer to mail your payment, please send it to:

Town of Lincoln
62 Quaker St
Lincoln, Vermont 05443

Currently, we accept cash, checks, or money orders. Please make checks payable to "Town of Lincoln," and include a copy of your bill, the installment stub, or your Parcel ID # with your payment. Should you need a copy of your tax bill please call the Town Office at 802-453-2980 or email the Town Treasurer at treasurer@lincolnvermont.org.

Payments are accepted anytime but must be paid or postmarked by the due dates to avoid penalties and interest. Payments received or postmarked after the due date are considered delinquent and interest charges are levied in the amount of 1/2% per month. In addition, an 8% penalty will be charged on any balance still due after the March due date.

Remember, under 24 V.S.A. §1535, taxpayers have the right to seek relief from the Board of Abatement under specific circumstances outlined in the statute.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
