Effective September 29, 8 a.m., a portion of U.S. Route 2 (U.S. 2) beginning 0.2 miles west of the intersection with Vermont Route 214 (VT 214) and continuing for approximately 1/3 of a mile, from mile marker 0.4 to mile marker 0.7, in Plainfield, will reopen to all traffic.
Following the reopening, during daytime hours, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., motorists should anticipate alternating one-way traffic. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should plan for moderate delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
PROJECT OVERVIEW: The Plainfield ER E24-2(610) project is an emergency slope stabilization project on U.S. Route 2 (U.S. 2) approximately 0.2 mile west of the intersection with Vermont Route 214 (VT 214) in Plainfield. For crews to complete the slope stabilization, equipment will need to occupy the entire width of the road, requiring closure of the roadway throughout the project area.
