Please save the date for a panel discussion on Education Funding in Vermont, sponsored by the HUUSD School Board. The location is TBA, either at Harwood Union HS or Crosset Brook MS.
The panel will discuss the current (complicated and dysfunctional IMO) system of funding public education in Vermont, and what we can expect for ed funding reform in the next Legislature session in January. The panelists will be our district superintendent Dr. Mike Leichliter, our Financial Officer Lisa Estler, our state Senator Andrew Perchlik, Senator Martine Gulick (vice-chair of the Senate committee on education), and Tammy Kolbe, an expert on state education financing. I think it's a really strong panel. There will be an opportunity for audience questions. (Please, no rants. We all know too well that property taxes are out of control!)
