Cider & Broadsides: Poetry at Ruth Stone House

Past event
Sep 28, 2024, 1 to 4 PM

Thank you everyone who joined us for an incredible past few weeks. From the ethereal Pandora Consort, to melodic meandering poetic rhythms Jolie Holland, we've had such a time with music and words resounding off the walls of Ruth Stone House. We've been meeting many new friends, and seeing familiar ones, and it's been fun showing off our progress at the house as we work our way through the most important phases of our capital campaign.....on that note: we'll be starting construction of the kitchen in a few weeks!! Along with a new workshop/dining room. We hope to tell you all about it over some apple cider and donuts this Saturday.

ABOUT THE SERIES:

At Beer & Broadsides we invite the community to come and mingle at the historic national literary landmark Ruth Stone House, have a drink and join in conversation. We're here to offer support and solidarity in building and fostering poetry and the arts. Anyone is welcome to attend these events. We print poetry "broadsides" (mini posters) on an old Vandercook SP15 Letterpress printer, and invite guests to try their hand at printing, and take home a fresh print.

The final hour of the event we open up to a poetry salon, where you can read a poem of your own or someone else's on the porch. We then have our featured readers share their work, sell books, and open up to informal Q&A discussion.

I'm here to answer any questions, by simply replying to this email!

***PUPS & CHILDREN WELCOME***
