Have you ever had a dream that stays with you, long after you are awake? Do you wonder if the dream has a deeper meaning but you can’t make heads or tails of the mysterious or nonsensical imagery? If so, give yourself a gift before the holidays this year and open up the gift of your dreams. Opening the Dream through Art is a two day workshop intensive December 6th and 7th with Karla Van Vliet and Gerette Buglion at Dream Haven, right here in Hyde Park.
This two day intensive will be facilitated by special guest Karla Van Vliet of Middlebury. Van Vleit is an artist, poet, master dreamwork analyst and creator/facilitator of ‘Art and the Practice of Presence’. Van Vliet states “This workshop is for anyone who has an urge to explore the vulnerable terrain of what wants to be expressed through our hands and to discover the rich sensuality of color, image and language that lives within our dreams.”
Dreams arise from the deep unconscious to deliver a message. The dream message will persist until the dreamer pauses long enough to listen. In listening, the dream ripens, opening new insight that resonates deeply. Out of this resonance, the dreamer may experience many things: new clarity around a difficult live situation, the healing from a past hurt or renewed intention of one's work in the world - to name a few possibilities. Each dream, no matter how obscure, is infused with such power.
This workshop is for everyone interested in self-discovery – novice and experienced dream workers as well as established artists and those who have little or no artistic experience. This workshop is not about technique, but about creating space inwardly for the dream-scape to arise. Therefore the only prerequisites are curiosity and the memory of at least one dream.
Space is limited to 5 participants and pre-registration is required by November 28th. Overnight accommodations are available at Dream Haven.
