Johnson Death Cafe Nov. 18

Past event
Nov 18, 2014

Just a reminder, Tuesday from 5:30-7 pm at the Town Clerk's office is the inaugural meeting of the Johnson Death Cafe.
Hope to see you there!

We invite you to join us in drinking tea, eating cake and discussing death. The aim of our Death Cafe, like that of all other Death Cafes, is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives. A Death Cafe is no more and no less than a friendly and interesting group of people discussing death, dying, and end of life concerns in a comfortable and safe setting. Curious but can’t make it this time? Go to our facebook page for updates on the Johnson chapter, and see deathcafe.com for more about this international organization

Time: 5:30 to 7pm
Location: Johnson Town Clerk
Contact information: johnsondeathcafe@yahoo.com

About Death Cafes:
Death Cafes originated through the work of sociologist Bernard Crettaz, who hosted the first “cafe mortals” in Switzerland in 2004. In 2011, Jon Underwood in the UK picked up this idea and franchised it as "Death Cafe." In the summer of 2012, Lizzy Miles hosted the first Death Cafe in Columbus, Ohio. Death Cafes have now been found in Australia, Italy, and Canada. A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session
