Season XII of the Architecture + Design Film Series begins with the film LOST SILVERFISH OF BERLIN.
While on a quest to uncover root causes of Berlin's housing crisis, (very similar to those in Vermont), director Rory Ryder stumbles upon a forgotten building, the Silverfish. Contemplating its potential as a ground breaking solution for temporary and emergency housing, the film explores the historical significance of the Silverfish building and it's alignment with housing trends like tiny houses, mobile homes, and nomadic living.
In connection with the film, guest speakers Julie Lineberger and Joseph Cincotta will present information about WheelPad, a modular temporary structure they designed and manufacture in VT that offers portable temporary options for accessible living.
