Steven C. Leopold Obituary
Bristol, VT

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven Charles Leopold, 76, beloved husband of the late Bridget (White) Leopold, on January 15, 2025. Steve was born in Burlington, VT, on April 20, 1948, to the late Jules and Gertrude (Waltzer) Leopold and settled in Bristol, VT, in 1984 where he raised his family.

Steve was a proud graduate of Burlington High School. A Vietnam War Veteran, Steve served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971 and then served in the National Guard for 19 years. After his discharge, he embarked on a career, working as an LPN in the ICU and the NICU until he met the love of his life.

Steve moved his new bride to Salt Lake City, Utah, where they set-up to raise a family. They welcomed two girls and moved back to Vermont to be closer to their families. Steve worked many jobs and places until his retirement in 2011, when he became a grandfather (Zadie) for the first time.

Steve is survived by his daughters Emily Leopold of Bristol, VT, Celia Beth Leopold (Christopher Benedetto) of Rollinsford, NH; three grandchildren, Cadogan, Camden, and Caleb Benedetto; a sister, Barbara (Gene) Sklar of Burlington, VT; a brother, Mark (Deborah) Leopold of Burlington, VT; uncle, Seymour Leopold of Florida; many nieces, nephews, all near and far. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, and grandson Nathaniel Benedetto.

The family would like to say a very special THANK YOU to the Bristol Vermont off-duty police officer for his attempt to help Steven during his last minutes of life, escape was not possible, due to the intensity of the blaze.
