***A Note from the family to learn more about them!***
We are from Sheldon, our names are Bruce and Katie Morits, we have been happily married for 17 years. We share three beautiful children together. Our daughter Karah who is 16, and is going into her junior year at BFA. She love soccer and is a naturally talented artist. Our son Kase, who is 13 and will be an 8th grader at Sheldon Elementary. He loves to play video games, and loves all sports, especially the Cincinnati Bengals 🧡. And then there is our son Kesden, who is 6 and will be a 1st grader at Sheldon Elementary. He loves all animals, his favorite being an elephant. He is high energy and loves to play outdoors.
A few months ago, November 2023 to be exact our son Kasen was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital where we were told that he had a genetic condition called Limb girdle muscular dystrophy which caused him to have a weakened heart. He was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, with severe dysfunction on the left side. Kasen was discharged in December and has been home doing very well with the medicine regimen. We do monthly visits to Boston and most recently were told Kase was having some extra beats. He wore a monitor and the results showed he was having them more frequently and was no longer safe at home. We are no back in Boston undergoing a heart evaluation and Kasen will be here until he is matched with a new heart. This road is and has been so long, but we have had the best support from family, friends and the community. Our son is a very strong, and determined kid. He continues to fight and is our heart warrior. He is #kasenstrong!
