Join us for an evening of true stories on the theme of "Underdogs." Similar to a Moth StorySLAM, we invite any BIPOC folks to share a personal story related to the theme. Put your name in the hat for a chance to tell your tale; everyone is welcome to attend and support our raconteurs.
Prepare a five-minute story of a time when you were an underdog. Did you own it, triumph, reject the label? Tell us what it meant, how you changed, or why the experience mattered.
Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive early to grab a seat and/or sign up!

Guidelines for Storytellers
Thank you for wanting to share your story with our community! Our story circle is an informal and relaxed event—you don't have to be a practiced speaker to participate, just to have the desire to share your story.
- Story length: 5 minutes
- Topic: something real that happened to you; related to the theme (underdogs for Sept 8)
- No notes: Mistakes are fine! We want to hear from the real you.
- Please use family-friendly language, even if the topics may be serious or adult
This event is organized by Addison County BIPOC+, whose members are self-identified Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and family members (+) living/working in and around Addison County, VT. Our goal is to provide a space where local folks of color can build community, break bread, and come together to support and learn from one another.
