Northfield Energy Committee is holding a workshop to discuss the potential for Thermal Energy Networks in Northfield. We are exploring how we can "See Heat Differently" within Northfield's businesses, municipalities, schools, and infrastructure and thus unlock the resources that already exist in our town to provide high efficiency heating and cooling beyond fossil fuels.
A Thermal Energy Network is an umbrella term that can include networked geothermal and other systems that use water pipes to capture, re-use, and share thermal energy between buildings and/or across manufacturing processes.
Topics explored:
Northfield's Thermal Resources
Valuing "Waste" Heat
Thermal Energy Technology
Decarbonizing Northfield
Sustainability and Planning
Infrastructure and Town Growth
Networking between stakeholders
Special guests:
Debbie New: Vermont Community Thermal Networks, Coordinator.
Jared Rodriguez: Community Decarbonization Partners, Inc., Director
