On Tuesday, August 13th at 10:30 am we will visit another Guilford gem, this time at the top of Oak Hill Road where a beautiful farmhouse looks out on green rolling fields. Joan Barradale, a long-time resident of Guilford, has enjoyed many years of cross-country skiing and hiking on her property. She will share her memories with us along with her friend Betsy Bates who will guide us on a walk around the property.
This is an easy walk on grassy paths and gravel road including a gradual uphill for about one quarter of the walk. From Guilford Center Road turn onto Weatherhead Hollow Road. After 1.5 mile, across from the Guilford Fairgrounds, turn right onto Oak Hill Road. Drive .5 mile up the hill to the end of the road.
The next and final walk of the 2024 season will be on September 6th at the Great Falls Discovery Center in Turners Falls, MA. There will be guided outdoor and indoor tours. Carpooling will be available at Guilford Community Church
