The Richmond Food Shelf thanks you, our beautiful community, for your generosity in this past month's food drive. And thank you to the Richmond Congregational Church who organized and spearheaded the effort to fill our shelves! We now have an ongoing donation box in the lobby of the Richmond library for anyone that can't make it into the food shelf to donate food during our open hours. Please only donate non-perishable food that is not expired.
SAVE THE DATE: The Richmond Food Shelf is collaborating with Project All Together Now and the Richmond Public Library for a screening of 'Just Getting By' (directed by Bess O'Brien) on Wednesday, August 14 at 7PM at the Richmond Library. "Just Getting By" is a sweeping yet intimate look at the lives of Vermonters who are struggling with food and housing insecurity. Vermont has the second highest rate of homelessness in the country and one third of Vermonters struggle to put food on the table. "Just Getting By" focuses on these issues in the lives of everyday people. Director Bess O'Brien, John Sayles (CEO of the Vermont Foodbank) and Andrew Jones (Asst. Superintendent of MMUUSD) will be present for a Q&A at the end of the film. This screening is free to the public, but your suggested donation of $15 will help fund this event and co-sponsors Project All Together Now and Richmond Food Shelf. This event is also sponsored by Richmond Free Library. We hope to see you there!
Not able to make it? Many local libraries are hosting screenings, including Huntington Public Library on October 2nd.
Thank you for supporting the food shelf!
