SPHERE: THE FULL 360 - A Unique Immersive Choral Concert Experience
The Vermont Academy of Choral Music is excited to unveil SPHERE: THE FULL 360, an innovative benefit concert designed to redefine the experience of choral music. This unique event will captivate audiences with a multidimensional journey through life's profound themes, embodied in the concept of a sphere that represents unity, diversity, and the entirety of the human experience.
About the Concert:
SPHERE: THE FULL 360 goes beyond traditional performance boundaries by merging choral music with a philosophical inquiry inspired by the geometry of a sphere, which positions all points at equal distances from its center. This structure is used to explore the interconnectedness of life's cycles—birth, life, death—and themes such as tragedy, grief, and reconciliation, drawing participants together into a shared emotional space.
A Multisensory Experience:
This concert is set to be an immersive experience that not only features vocal music but also integrates visual arts through innovative lighting and graphic designs. This approach aims to transform the concert space into a vibrant hub of innovation, creative expression, and introspection, with the audience playing a pivotal role in the dynamic of the event.
Collaborative Effort:
SPHERE: THE FULL 360 features collaborations with renowned composers like Paul Mealor, Henrik Dahlgren, Dale Trumbore, and Dr. Justin Rito. Together, they have crafted a distinctive program for an all-treble choir, interspersed with poetic narrations and other literary forms, creating a multidimensional cantata that reflects the spherical theme of the concert.
