17-member big band Green Mountain Swing will play swing, jazz, Latin, funk, blues, and rock arrangements 8-10:30pm Friday July 19 at ArtsRiot (400 Pine St., Burlington). Admission is free, "we" get paid out of the bar proceeds:

GMS members include geezers, middle agers, younger adults, and recent college graduates, but "we" band members never see the money. GMS is an all-volunteer non-profit organization which donates proceeds towards scholarships and grants for student musicians and programs across Vermont, in fond memory of departed band members. Donations for young musicians are also gratefully accepted.
