Jericho Town Library is excited to host the 2024 Jericho Center Pet Parade on the Town Green on Saturday, July 27th. We encourage participants to pre-register using this Google Form (available on our website) - https://forms.gle/zdU9Qr6XAudHKqoq5 - for a chance to win a free creemee. Same-day registration will begin at 10am and end at 10:55am. All participants should arrive at the Green by 10:50am, in preparation for the parade at 11am.

This year, we will be awarding prizes in the following categories (mostly celebrating different types of adventures, in honor of our summer reading theme, Adventure Begins at Your Library):

- Funniest Costume: Let the games begin! Bring your silliest, most unbelievable costumes and show us how funny your pet can be.

- Globe Trotters: It's a wild, wonderful world! Come dressed in your best traveling gear, or come up with a costume that celebrates one of your favorite places, near or far.

- Literary Reference: We are a library, after all! We can't wait to see some of our favorite book characters come to life.

- Most Unexpected Pet: Do you have a hamster, a rabbit, or even a snake? Shock the audience your most unique member of the family. (We are not-so-secretly hoping for a mini horse or two!)

- Most Vermont: We're looking for the kind of costume that could be featured in a Vermont Department of Tourism ad! Celebrate your love for our state and our local community with your costume.

- Out of This World: Adventure isn't limited to places you can reach by car, plane, or train. This category is made for costumes of the interstellar, time traveling, and fantastical varieties.

- Wild Card/Judges' Choice: Sometimes the best costumes are ones we never could have anticipated! The judges will recognize an excellent entry - maybe even one that doesn't quite fit into the above categories.

For the safety of those participating in and viewing the parade, we are asking Jericho Center residents to avoid driving on upper Jericho Center Circle for the duration of the parade (roughly 10:50am to 11:45am). We appreciate your support in keeping this tradition alive and in keeping all of our patrons, neighbors, and guests safe during the event.
