Summer Sound Bath Meditation working with the themes of Gemini
As the sun enters the curious and intellectual realm of Gemini, we are invited to tune into the rhythm of our nervous system. Governed by the celestial messenger Mercury, Gemini rules the mind and the intricate pathways of our nervous system reminding us of the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.
Mercury is the messenger of the gods, a psychopomp, one that moves and walks in between worlds, and is mythically associated with creation. With our words and our thoughts we create our reality. Gemini governs the hands, giving us the capacity to hold duality, to hold both ends of the spectrum and multiple perspectives simultaneously.
By quieting the mind through slowing down our brain waves, sound powerfully yet gently induces a deeply meditative state that grants greater access to one's innate creativity.
The nervous system is also deeply nourished and calmed as sound directly stimulates the vagus nerve, activating the parasympathetic state, known as the rest and digest mode of the nervous system. This relaxed state allows the body's natural intelligence to heal itself.
