Vermont master timber framer Will Gusakov of Goosewing Timberworks will share his experience working in Normandy, France on the project to rebuild the nave roof frame of the Notre Dame Cathedral. The roof of the Cathedral was destroyed in a tragic fire in 2019. Through images and stories, Will takes us into the rebuilding effort at the workshop in Normandy and on-site at the Cathedral in Paris.
Fascinating photos will highlight how Will and his colleagues use high-tech building systems and centuries-old building techniques to rebuild this historic landmark, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.
