Jazz musician and Vermont Public host Ray Vega comes to the Worthen!
As an international jazz innovator, Ray leads the Ray Vega Quartet and Ray Vega Band. Locally, he is a senior lecturer at the University of Vermont, where he teaches jazz history and improvisation, and is the host of Vermont Public's ever-popular Friday Night Jazz.
Ray Vega grew up immersed in the heart of two vibrant New York City music scenes- Jazz and Salsa- learning these musical styles with the great legends.
Through his talk and demonstration, Ray will focus on the creative process of spontaneous composition.
