This is your chance to ask questions and interact with school leaders to learn about the proposed FY25 Budget and how it impacts your taxes.

As you may know, there is a great deal of misinformation on social media regarding both the MTSD operations and the FY25 proposed budget. This is an opportunity for our community to access accurate information.

Fiction: The District hides money for 'other things' in Special Education lines.

Fact: Each district is required to submit a service plan to the VT Agency of Education in October for approval. Each district must then submit a special education quarterly expenditure report to the State. If there was a disconnect, undoubtedly hiding money would result in an auditory finding.

Fiction: The District is paying 1 person $47,000 to provide training on Wednesdays in $6,000 increments to avoid Board approval.

Fact: The District has multiple contracts with a variety of individuals and organizations to provide embedded professional training. All of these contracts are paid through either ESSER grant funds or Title grant funds. We are not funding any staff training this year through the General Fund.
