As you may have heard, the Goddard College campus currently appears to be under contract to be sold to commercial property developer Patrick Malone, of Malone Properties. (Malone owns many of the newer properties on the Barre - Montpelier Road, Shelburne Rd., etc.). The current Goddard president and board completely lack transparency around the sale, and are seeking to privatize the college's estate with no guarantee that groups and projects there can continue to operate or any level of community and alumni involvement.

Several Plainfield-based folks are hosting an event this coming Sat. to try to shed some light on what's happening and how the campus might be able to be saved for more community-friendly developments. Come down to the campus this Saturday for a community potluck, speakers, art, and some music and help resist the privatization of the commons.
